Why coordination matters
Most delays on remodel projects come from sequencing. The plumber needs the wall open before the electrician closes it, and the roofer needs the framing done before the plumber's vent stack can be placed through the roof. When one general contractor plans all of it, work happens in the right order, inspections are scheduled at the right moments and nobody is waiting on someone else's schedule.
Electrical
Electrical work in a remodel or addition usually means more than adding outlets. Older homes may need panel capacity increases, grounding corrections, or replacement of outdated wiring. New kitchens, bathrooms, ADUs and EV chargers each add load.
- Service and panel upgrades when capacity is the limit
- Circuits for kitchens, bathrooms, laundry and appliances
- Lighting layouts, including requirements under California energy rules
- Wiring for additions and ADUs, with permits and inspection
- Repair and replacement of outdated or unsafe wiring
Plumbing
Plumbing is about supply, drains and venting. Moving a toilet or kitchen sink can be inexpensive if it stays near the existing lines and costly if it requires cutting through a slab. In older homes, galvanized supply lines and aging drain pipes are common reasons to replace piping during a remodel.
- Fixture installation and relocation for kitchens and bathrooms
- Supply and drain line repair or replacement
- Water heater replacement and relocation
- New plumbing for additions and ADUs, including sewer connection planning
- Venting and gas line work as part of a permitted scope
Roofing
A roof is more than shingles. Decking, underlayment, flashing, ventilation and drainage all work together. Roofing in Southern California is shaped by sun exposure, occasional heavy rain and, in the foothills, fire-hazard rules that can require specific fire-rated roof assemblies.
- Roof replacement and repair for residential structures
- Tie-ins where a new addition meets an existing roof
- Flashing and penetration details at chimneys, vents and skylights
- Material selection that accounts for fire rating and California energy requirements
- Gutters and drainage that move water off the roof and away from the foundation
Licensed trades
Electrical, plumbing and roofing are licensed trades in California, and permits and inspections apply to much of the work. We plan these scopes as part of your overall project and build the permit and inspection milestones into the schedule.
Common situations
- A kitchen remodel that adds circuits, moves the sink and vents a range hood through the roof
- A garage-to-ADU conversion that needs a new panel, a bathroom and a mini-split or heating solution
- A room addition whose roof has to blend into the existing roofline
- A roof replacement paired with a deck, solar-ready wiring or gutter project
